The City of Athens and the Athenian Riviera

Located on the distinguished Vouliagmeni promontory among 30 pine-decked hectares, in the very heart of the Athens Riviera, the destination offers total seclusion amidst its lush Mediterranean countryside and seafront surroundings. Hailed as the ultimate base camp to explore everything that Athens has to offer, Astir is only 30 minutes from the Greek capital’s city center with its framed theater, museums, shopping and, of course, the Acropolis and other ancient sites. The new Stavros Niarchos Foundation’s Cultural Center – with its new opera house – and the National Museum of Contemporary Art are also nearby.

Museum of Cycladic Art

Museum of Cycladic Art

- 20km from Astir
Founded in 1986, the Museum of Cycladic Art is dedicated to the study and promotion of the fascinating ancient Aegean and Cypriot cultures, naturally emphasizing on Cycladic Art of the 3rd millennium BC. Over the years, the museum’s collection has grown significantly with new acquisitions. Today, the museum hosts the following three main collections: Cycladic Culture, Ancient Greek Art, and Cypriot Culture. The exhibitions are housed in two different buildings which are joined by a glass-roofed corridor.
This is a small, tastefully put together museum in the heart of Athens. The exhibitions are skillfully arranged by period while they are accompanied by informative descriptions and videos, aiming to take visitors on a journey through time. Overall the MCA is an experience not to be missed!
